Early experience
Wan Hongjie was born in Xinxiang City, Henan Province in 1972. Due to his poor family background, he came out to roam the society when he was very young. Later, he started a business in Shenzhen. As a child, he learned dance and sometimes went to the bar to sing.
In 1996, 24-year-old Wan Hongjie was admitted to the 96 level advanced study class of Beijing Film Academy and graduated one year later.
Acting experience
In 1997, he starred in Tang Guoqiang, Jiao Huang, Wang Huachun and Du Yulu in the ancient costume historical drama Yongzheng Dynasty, in which he played Liu Molin, a white faced scholar.
In 1999, he co starred with Wang Jianing, Tao zeru and Hong cosmos in the police drama black blood, where he played Wu Tianli.
In 2001, he co starred with Xu Zheng, Zhang Ting and Liu Lili in the time travel romantic comedy love through time, in which he played Zhu Di, the fourth son of Zhu Yuanzhang.
In 2002, he co starred with Wu Qilong, Zhu Yin and Yu Bo in the martial arts drama "Xiao shiilang", in which he played Yang Kaitai, the young master of Yang's horse farm.
In 2006, he co starred with Song Jia, Wang Yanan and Wang Huachun in the ancient court drama Tianxia, in which he played Qian Jiayi; in the same year, he played the historical drama Zhenguan Changge, starring Tang Guoqiang, Zhang Lanlan, Nie yuan and Du Zhiguo, in which he played the abandoned Prince Li Chengqian.
In 2007, his ancient costume historical drama "Zhenguan long song" premiered on CCTV; in the same year, he played in urban emotional drama "Wenzhou people in Paris" directed by Yin Dawei, in which he played Male No.1 Gao Xiaofeng.
In 2008, he acted in the Republic of China emotional drama "big porcelain merchant" starring Xia Yu, Yi Nengjing and Liu Dekai, playing Zhao Ruxin in the drama; in the same year, he acted in the Republic of China emotional drama "spring goes and spring returns" starring Huang Shaoqi, Li Zonghan, Jiang Hongen and Lian Kai, playing Shen Xinchi, Shen Zijun's brother in the drama.
In 2009, he co starred with Guo Zhenni, Tian Liang and Duan Junhao in the emotional drama of the era, i.e. love in tears, and played Guan Peilong in the play.
In 2010, he co starred with Zhang Heng, Yin Xiaotian, Wang Liyun and Zhang Ningyi in the urban emotional drama the steering wheel of love, playing Chen Zhizhong in the play.
In 2011, he co starred with Liu Peiqi, Ding Liuyuan and Na Renhua in the rural emotional drama "never met you" (also known as "Yang Shanzhou"), playing Liu Pengsheng in the play.
In 2013, he co starred with Wang Qiang, Jin Chen and Shi Weiwei in the Anti Japanese drama snow hawk, in which he played Yu Ningyuan, head of the 5958 regiment of the Northeast Army.
In 2014, he starred in the emotional drama "the legend of twenty four filial piety", in which he played the Male No.1 Chen Jiujin.
