Fan yuan was born in Shanghai in December 1933. He was engaged in art creation in 1960. From 1972 to 1979, it was selected into three national art exhibitions. Among them, shuishuijiaolong was published and selected into a large album. Shuishuijiaolong was sent to Japan for display and collected by Japanese friend Kaji Uchiyama.

From 1986 to 1992, six works were selected in Beijing Art Exhibition. From 1989 to 1995, eight works were selected in the national art exhibition. From 1986 to 1992, he won three outstanding works awards in Beijing.
