Introduction to Dragon Dance (dragon lantern Pavilion)
Applicant: Linyi City, Shandong Province
Longdeng shouldering Pavilion is popular in Sanguanmiao village, Jiuqu street, Hedong District, Linyi city. It has a history of more than 170 years. It is a square dance combining dragon dance and shouldering Pavilion.
The dragon lantern Pavilion is usually performed during the Spring Festival. In the past, this kind of traditional dance was usually used to worship gods and pray for rain. During the Anti Japanese War and the war of liberation, the dragon lantern Pavilion took part in the celebration of victory for the Eighth Route Army, the New Fourth Army and the people's Liberation Army. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it has become a cultural and entertainment project in festivals.
The "colorful dragon" in the dragon lantern Pavilion is 25 meters long, and the dancers are young and middle-aged. They are divided into two groups with 10 people in each group: one holds the Pearl, and the other nine hold the dragon head, dragon body and dragon tail. Among them, 8 adults are "Xiaqian", each with a base commonly known as "iron vest", and each carries a boy or girl (called "Shangqian") dressed as a character in a fairy tale.
During the performance, the colorful dragon dances according to the established routine under the guidance of the Pearl bearer; the carrying Pavilion is mainly "walk on the field"; when the dragon dance is fierce, the carrying Pavilion crosses and changes the formation on one side; when the dragon dance is slow, the carrying Pavilion is inserted into the dragon team in the field to walk and revolve.
The accompaniment is mainly accompanied by percussion instruments such as drums, gongs and cymbals. There are two kinds of tunes: flowing water and gusty wind. When the performance reaches its climax, a special person is assigned to "whistle" outside the scene to play up the atmosphere. The performance of the dragon lantern Pavilion is bold and grand, which has always been loved by the local people.
