Dragon dance, also known as "Dragon Dance", is the most widely distributed and far-reaching folk dance in China. This kind of dance has various forms of expression, and the styles of dragon dance in different nationalities and regions are quite different.
According to the shape of the dragon, there are many forms of dragon dance, such as cloth dragon, yarn dragon, paper dragon, grass dragon, Qian dragon, bamboo dragon, brown dragon, bench dragon, shutter dragon, lotus dragon, fire dragon, chicken feather dragon, meat dragon and so on. Different forms of dragon have different dance styles and techniques. The traditional performance procedure of Chinese dragon dance is generally composed of "invite the dragon", "leave the dragon", "dance the dragon" and "send the dragon". Dragon dance is an important part of the spirit and cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.
Qiaolin township is located in the west of Jieyang City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the Yang of Qishan and the Bank of Rongjiang river. Qiaolin firework fire dragon, commonly known as "burning dragon", is one of the most solemn folk art activities in Jieyang. It originated in the Ming Dynasty and has been handed down for more than 600 years in duguqiao, Panxi (now Qiaodong village, Qiaoxi village and Qiaonan village, Pandong Town, Dongshan District, Jieyang City).
In Chaoshan, people use fireworks and dragon performances to pray for peace, prosperity and good luck. With the development and processing of artists and the participation of the public, Qiaolin fireworks dragon integrates dance, costumes, Chaozhou music and martial arts. Its performance style is strong and powerful, and its language and action are free and easy, showing a unique Chaoshan folk art characteristics. More than 30 young people form a team to perform the one-stop dance. There are many patterns in the dance. During the performance, the person in charge of the Pearl guides the dragon's head forward. The dragon's body, dragon head and dragon tail are all splashed with sparks. It's very spectacular. It's zigzag, undulating, sometimes winding, sometimes flying.
Qiaolin fireworks dragon reflects the local people's strong, brave and indomitable character, and reaches a higher artistic level, which has the research value of dance, folklore, Chaoshan music and so on. In recent years, the survival of Qiaolin firework dragon is in crisis, and it is urgent for the relevant parties to further strengthen the rescue and protection measures.
