Brief introduction of jizhongsheng wind music (Shengfang concert)
Applicant: Bazhou City, Hebei Province
Jizhong Sheng wind music is popular in Jizhong plain, that is, nearly 30 counties and cities south of Beijing, west of Tianjin, north of Cangzhou and Dingzhou. It is commonly known as "concert". It is also known as "Sheng wind music" because it mainly uses pipe to lead, Sheng, etc. In addition to Sheng and wind instruments, there are also cloud Gong, flute and percussion instruments, such as drum, cymbal, cymbal and Dangdang. Music is divided into three categories: Suite, ditty and independent percussion. The length of the divertimento is long and the structure is complex, which is the main part of "Sheng guanyue". "Sheng Guan Yue" is all over the central Hebei plain. Farmers from all over the country take the village as a unit to perform in local folk activities such as sacrifice, etiquette, funeral and so on.
Shengfang Town is located 35 kilometers east of Bazhou, Langfang city. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, twelve "concerts" were set up in the town, among which Shengfang was the most famous.
Shengfang Zhennan concert is the product of Buddhist music spread among the people, and its inheritance way is oral and psychological. The style of Shengfang Zhennan concert is simple and simple. Since it was founded, it has gone through hundreds of years with little variation. The way of playing, the content of playing (Qupai), the use of musical instruments and so on have strict rules, few changes.
Bazhou Shengfang Town concert now can play more than 30 pieces of music, the most good at big set [Qingqi], [hillside sheep] and so on. In the repertoire, there are both Buddhist music and secular style village tunes, which are both elegant and popular, and are deeply loved by the people. In addition to participating in the local funeral folk activities, the Zhennan concert will perform in temple fairs three times a year, and host Shengfang's "glass Buddha" (Ice Lantern Festival). During the Shengfang Lantern Festival, Zhennan concert is the only music club that can participate in the "pendulum meeting" (one of the procedures of many folk flower parties).
Since the end of the Qing Dynasty, Bazhou Shengfang Zhennan concert began to collect Gaoqiang and Kunqu Opera, becoming the largest music club in the town. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Kunqu Opera gradually faded out, but up to now musicians can still play Kunqu Opera. Among many local concerts, the grand array of flags, corner lights, drum racks and tea picking has become the characteristics of Zhennan concert. The performance ceremony, formation and related artifacts with unique style of Shengfang Zhennan concert are the real remains of Buddhist music in the folk. They are also important materials for understanding and studying classical Buddhist music and local folk customs.
Due to the influence of various factors, Qu Jiaying concert, Gaoluo concert, Gaoqiao concert and Shengfang concert are facing great difficulties in inheritance. Only by strengthening the protection can we inherit this excellent folk cultural heritage.
