Dali march street is a grand traditional festival of the Bai people. Its main activity is in Dali ancient city, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It began in Yonghui period of Tang Dynasty and evolved from temple fair. Its emergence is closely related to the spread of Buddhism in Dali. The period of march street is seven days, starting from March 15 and ending on March 21. Every year, millions of people go to march street, and people from all over the country and overseas take part in it.
During the period of march street, rich and colorful ethnic cultural and sports activities were carried out, as well as material Trade and cultural exchange. In addition to the traditional trading of medicinal materials, large livestock and general merchandise, Dali march street has also opened up a new "Foreigner Street" and a local ethnic food street, and added a trading market for jewelry and jade, computer products, etc., expanding the sales scale of local famous, special and excellent new products.
