Baguazhang, originally known as Zhuanzhang, is one of the traditional martial arts. It was created by Dong Haichuan, a native of zhujiajia village, Wen'an County, Hebei Province. During the reign of Xianfeng and Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Dong accepted apprenticeship in the capital.

Liu Baozhen, the founder of Liu style Bagua palm, was born in Gu'an County, south of Beijing. He practiced martial arts since he was a child. He was good at poking his feet and had high skill.
