Tongguan ancient town is located in the East Bank of Xiangjiang River, Wangcheng District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is one of the five ceramic capitals in China. Tongguan ceramic industry has a long history, rich cultural connotation and unique ceramic skills. Before the Shang Dynasty, Emperor Shun led his ancestors to start the pottery industry in Xiangjiang area. By the Tang Dynasty, Tongguan ceramics had developed rapidly, and ceramic techniques were gradually mature.
