Since the Neolithic age more than 8000 years ago, porcelain has appeared in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province. After the Song Dynasty, Fengxi in Chaozhou became the center of ceramic production, which has continued to this day.

The firing techniques of Fengxi porcelain include carving, molding, carving, kneading, pasting, carving, engraving, printing and pressing. The decoration methods are also rich and colorful, among which carving and kneading are the most famous. Fengxi porcelain artists are good at portraying characters and animals by means of realism, exaggeration and deformation. The products are of high artistry, brilliance and unique charm. Among the firing techniques of Fengxi porcelain, the unique one is the whole body hollowing out technique, which is a combination of colored porcelain and molded porcelain flowers. That is to say, the original blank is carved with various patterns, molded with porcelain clay, and then fired in the kiln.
