A brief introduction to the firing techniques of Tang Sancai
Applicant: Luoyang City, Henan Province
Tang Sancai is a unique style of pottery, popular in the Tang Dynasty, has a history of more than 1300 years. The so-called "three colors" refers to the glaze color decorated with yellow, green and white on the white plain tire to express the meaning of colorful. Due to a large number of Tang Sancai treasures unearthed in Luoyang, it is also known as "Luoyang Tang Sancai".
Tang Sancai's tire material is mainly white kaolin produced locally. The second firing method is used in the firing process. First, the sculpture blank is dried, and then it is fired in the kiln at a temperature of more than 1000 ℃. Then, all kinds of glazes are fired in the kiln, and the firing temperature is about 900 ℃. Tang three color glaze is a kind of low temperature transparent glaze. In the process of firing, the glaze will naturally flow down after melting and infiltrate with each other, resulting in a unique artistic effect.
Since the reign of Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, the Gao family of Mengjin used small kilns to make Tang Sancai, which was passed down from male to female. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Gao Songmao of the Gao family made unreservedly contributions to the firing techniques of Tang Sancai, which brought Tang Sancai into a new period of development. Originally, Luoyang Tang Sancai could only simply imitate the shape of horse and camel, but now its product types have been greatly enriched. People, animals, utensils, birds and animals can all be made with Tang Sancai.
At present, it is still a very urgent problem to further protect and inherit the traditional firing techniques of Tang Sancai.
