China University of political science and law < / a > is a" 211 Project "key construction university with the characteristics and advantages of law, literature, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and other disciplines, and a" 985 "advantage discipline innovation platform" project key construction university, directly under the Ministry of education. The school has two campuses, Xueyuan Road in Haidian District and Fuxue road in Changping District.  

The predecessor of the university is Beijing University of political science and law, which was formed in 1952 by the combination of law, political science, sociology and other disciplines of Peking University, Tsinghua University, Yanjing University and Furen University. In 1983, Beijing University of political science and law merged with the central Cadre School of political science and law to form China University of political science and law. In 1985, the school opened up a new campus in Changping. At present, the university has law school, School of civil and commercial economic law, School of international law, School of criminal justice, School of politics and public administration, School of business, School of humanities, School of foreign languages, School of continuing education, School of international education, School of Marxism, School of Sociology, School of master of law, School of Journalism and communication, School of international Confucianism, advanced education center for senior political and legal administrators, and School of secondary education There are 19 teaching units in European law school, science and technology teaching department and physical education teaching department, including the Institute of procedural law (the key research base of Humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education), the Institute of legal history (the key research base of Humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education), the Institute of Evidence Science (the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education), and the Institute of government by law (the Beijing Philosophy and social sciences research base) There are 10 university level scientific research institutions, i.e. the Institute of human rights (national human rights education and training base), the Institute of comparative law, the Research Institute of ancient legal books, the research and evaluation center of legal education, the research center of law and economics, and the Institute of globalization and global issues. The university has 70 master's degree authorization points, 3 professional master's degree authorization points, 28 doctor's degree authorization points and 3 post doctoral research mobile stations. Law, political science and Marxist theory are the first-class disciplines authorized for doctoral degree, while philosophy, theoretical economics, applied economics, sociology, psychology, foreign language and literature, journalism and communication, Chinese history, business administration and public administration are the first-class disciplines authorized for master degree, among which law is the first-class national key discipline.

The university has established cooperative relations with 151 well-known universities and institutions in 34 countries and regions, and sent nearly 1000 teachers and students abroad to study and exchange through various cooperation and exchange projects every year. The Sino European Law School of China University of political science and law, established in 2008, is the largest cooperation project between the Chinese government and the European Union in the field of legal education. With the implementation of the project, the pattern and scale of training international legal talents have been initially formed.
