Brief introduction of Mongolian Leche making technology:
Applicant: aruhorqin banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
Lele car used to be the most widely used means of transportation in Mongolia. There is a long history of Leche production technology in aruhorqin banner of Inner Mongolia, and the complete process is still retained at present.
Le Le Che is composed of three parts: frame, wheel and axle saddle. It is mostly made of hard wood such as birch and elm. The frame is composed of 2 shafts, 9 transverse braces, 8 vertical braces and 2 car covers; the wheel is composed of 1 axle, 2 hubs, 36 spokes and 12 rims. There are also two axle saddles, which connect the frame and wheels.
Only simple woodworking tools such as adze, axe, chisel and saw are needed to make the lecher. When making the lecher, relevant vertical mortise holes should be chiseled on the shaft wood, car cover and axle saddle, and horizontal mortise holes should be chiseled on the shaft wood. The transverse and vertical supports shall be provided with corresponding mortise to connect the frame. The two ends of the axle should be cut to be thin and round, the inside should be thick and the outside should be thin, and the axle holes should be drilled at both ends. The center of each hub should be drilled through the shaft hole, which is thick inside and thin outside. Around it, 18 spoke mortise holes are chiseled, which are vertical and slightly outward inclined within the center of the hub. There is no shoulder tenon at the root of the spoke. There is a single shoulder tenon at the head. The tenon of the two sections is at a 90 degree angle. The rim of the car (the frame around the wheel) is made of bent wood, on which three mortise holes corresponding to the tenon of the spokes are chiseled, and the two ends are made into mutually adaptive mortise and double shoulder mortise. The root of the spoke is punched into the mortise of the wheel hub, and the tenon shoulder of the head is pulled to install the upper rim. The wheel is mounted on the axle and connected with the axle saddle on the frame.
There is a lot of scientific and technological knowledge in the production of Leche, which reflects the intelligence of Mongolian working people. Today, with the rapid development of modern transportation, there are few craftsmen who make the blackjack. They are in an endangered state and need to be protected and rescued.
