Uygur embroidery is a kind of folk embroidery art rich in national characteristics, which is mainly popular in Hami area of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It was formed and developed on the basis of Islamic culture by learning from and integrating Han man culture and Buddhist culture. It has a long history. Almost all Uygur women are proficient in embroidery. Before getting married, girls have to learn all kinds of embroidery skills to complete the necessary daily necessities such as embroidered pillows. There are various forms of Uygur embroidery, among which the four types of "Flower Hat Flower", "pillow flower", "dress side flower" and "coat single flower" can best reflect the cultural characteristics of Uygur nationality. In terms of technology, Uygur embroidery absorbed some skills of Suzhou embroidery and Beijing embroidery, and formed a variety of embroidery methods, such as flat embroidery, knot embroidery, pan gold and silver embroidery, cross embroidery, tufted embroidery, grid embroidery, comprehensive embroidery, etc. Hami Uygur embroidery art is the product of Uygur multi culture and Hami local culture, which has the research value of Ethnology and folk art.
