Applicant: Yongqing County, Hebei Province
Caizha is a kind of traditional folk craft which is popular in the north and south. It is closely related to sacrifice, festivals, entertainment and other folk activities. After continuous derivative development, it has formed a huge influence in the folk. The technique of color binding is mainly based on bone paper mounting, supplemented by surface painting. Due to different customs and products, there are some differences in the specific materials. In some places, straw is used as bone instead of bamboo strips, and plain colored cloth, silk or leather paper is used as surface. In Handan, Hebei, colorful cloth is directly mounted with various kinds of cloth. The color decoration will also have its own characteristics due to the changes of regions. Generally speaking, the northern color bar is bold and unconstrained, with strong contrast; the southern color bar is delicate, lively and lovely. Colorful products are rich in form, including lantern, lion head, stage, ancient model and so on. The lion's head and other handicrafts are often created based on the opera facial makeup of the origin, and then made with cloth, hemp, silk flowers and other accessories, which can often achieve a vivid and vivid state.
Straw engraving is a kind of folk art spread in Yongqing County, Hebei Province. Yongqing is rich in sorghum. Skillful housewives often use sorghum straw nails to make cover plates or containers for food. On this basis, they gradually developed superb straw carving skills. With the help of calipers, scissors, cones, knives, bamboo sticks, oil lamps and other tools, various ornamental handicrafts are assembled and carved by hand with exquisite craftsmanship and exquisite modeling, which fully shows the aesthetic taste and artistic creativity of local folk artists. In the 1960s, Yongqing straw carvers used sorghum straw to carve cot cages, and on this basis, they developed their skills in the direction of refinement, producing straw lanterns and ancient architectural models with high ornamental value, and made high achievements in technology. At present, the development of Yongqing straw engraving technology is slow, and it is difficult to carry it forward only by the strength of artists. This excellent folk art needs to be inherited and continued, and needs to be protected and supported by relevant parties.
