Jinyang Fenghuo meteor, commonly known as "Huo meteor", is a folk fire performance art integrating folk acrobatics and Chinese martial arts. It is mainly spread in Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. The performance is usually carried out in the evening, with one or more people doing "back flower", "steamed bread flower" and other actions, so that the iron cages at both ends of the rope rotate in the air from slow to fast, with sparks splashing in the cage. The fire takes advantage of the wind, and the wind helps the fire to form a variety of patterns. In Fenghuo meteor performance, actors can do many kinds of actions, such as travel, standing, sitting, lying, rolling and so on. Its performance routine is similar to martial arts routine, including double dragon opening, fire dragon entanglement, Wukong stick, fire dragon 18 roll and so on. During the performance, the music is played with small gongs and drums, and the movements are changed in different drums, which is exciting.

Fenghuo meteor requires the actors to have martial arts skills, so the performance is more ornamental than the general acrobatics, which is a wonderful flower of ancient Jinyang folk fire culture. Excavation, rescue and protection of firestars can promote the development of local folk fire culture. Due to the limitations of high risk and high difficulty in practice, this magical acrobatic art is facing an embarrassing situation which is difficult to maintain and is in urgent need of rescue and protection.
