Introduction to Hubei storytelling
Applicant: Wuhan City, Hubei Province
Hubei storytelling is a popular form of folk art in Hubei Province, which is mainly spread in Wuhan, Shashi, Jingzhou, Yichang, Xiaogan and other places. In 1643, the 16th year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty, Zuo Liangyu, the general of pingthief, was stationed in Wuchang. He recruited Liu Jingting, a famous storyteller from the south of the Yangtze River, as an advisor and a storyteller in the army. Southern storytellers regard Liu Jingting as the founder of the industry, and regard him as "Liu Zu". Hubei storytelling is developed under the influence of Liu. Since the last years of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty, there have been a number of storytelling performing artists in Hubei Province, such as "Tong, Wang, Jiao, Xia Ping Shu Si Gan Qi", "five tiger generals in the field of calligraphy", and three schools, represented by Rong Zongsheng, Chen Shutang and Jiang Yunqing, have emerged.
Hubei storytelling is good at using gestures, posture, eloquence and other dynamic performances and props such as table, fan, wake-up wood, handkerchief to simulate the various characters in the book, rendering the atmosphere. The performers usually use popular colloquial language to express the dialogue between the characters, and elegant parallel style to describe the scenery. The bibliography of Pingshu in Hubei is very rich, which can be divided into two categories. One kind is the "dizi book" narrated according to the original novel and the "snow with snow" developed and processed on the basis of the "dizi book", in which the works such as lieguo, Sanguo, Shuihu, Sui and Tang Dynasties, yingliezhuan, Sanxia, Bayi and 12xiong, and QINV Baoguo belong; the other kind is called "Luzi book", the picture of Wang Mang's loyalty and filial piety, and bamen's fighting for wisdom The works belong to this category.
Hubei storytelling has its own characteristics in literature, language, performance and so on. It has high research value and deserves attention. Nowadays, this valuable folk art has no successors, and its prospects are worrying. It is necessary to strengthen its research and protection.
