Introduction to Taijiquan (Chen's Taijiquan)
Applicant: Jiaozuo City, Henan Province
Taijiquan is a treasure of Oriental culture and an ancient flower of Chinese martial arts. For hundreds of years, it has derived many schools of broadcasting at home and abroad, such as Chen, Yang, Wu, sun, he and so on. Chen's Taijiquan appeared in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. It was created by Chen Wangting of Chenjiagou, Wenxian County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province.
Taijiquan is a unique way of exercise, which integrates attack, physical strength, fitness, intelligence and cultivation. It contains the profound connotation of Oriental philosophy. It integrates the unity of opposites such as Yin and Yang, movement and stillness, pros and cons, existence and absence, form and spirit into martial arts. It strengthens the body and exercises in accordance with the law of human movement, reflecting the vitality of the Chinese nation.
However, due to the impact of industrialization, globalization, market economy and other factors, the contemporary development of Chen's Taijiquan is facing difficulties. Its cultural connotation is dying out, the original cultural ecological environment has been destroyed, and many boxing and mechanical routines are on the verge of being lost. In recent years, the people's governments of Jiaozuo City and Wenxian county have taken a series of protective measures in terms of policy, capital investment, popularization and promotion, but the development of Chen's Taijiquan is still not optimistic, and the endangered situation is still grim, which needs further protection.
