Wanchang town

Wanchang Town, belonging to Yongji County, Jilin City, Jilin Province, is located in the northwest of Yongji County. It borders yilaxi town and Chaluhe town in the East, jinjiaxiang town in the south, Shuangyang District of Changchun City across the river in the West and Jiutai District of Changchun City in the north. It is 50 kilometers away from Yongji County, with a total area of 157.02 square kilometers.

In 1817, Wanchang town belonged to Chengxin society of Yongji Prefecture; in September 2001, it was changed from Wanchang street of Chaluhe characteristic agricultural economic zone to Wanchang town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Wan Chang town was 45464. As of June 2020, Wanchang town has one community and 17 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Wanchang community.

In 2018, there were 36 industrial enterprises in Wanchang Town, including 9 above scale enterprises and 82 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters. In September 2018, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas of the people's Republic of China approved Wanchang town to carry out the demonstration construction of a strong agricultural town.

History of construction

In 1913, it belonged to Chaluhe district.

In February 1957, Wanchang township was established.

In August 1958, Wanchang township was changed into Wanchang commune.

In January 1984, Wanchang commune was changed into Wanchang township.

In July 1992, Wanchang township was replaced by Wanchang town.

In February 2001, Wanchang street of Chaluhe characteristic agricultural economic zone was changed; in September of the same year, Wanchang town was changed.

In February 2005, Guanting township was merged into Wanchang town.

Wanchang town is located in the valley plain area on the East Bank of Yinma River at the eastern foot of Dahei Mountain.
