Tangtou town is located in the southwest of Sinan County in Guizhou Province, 31 kilometers away from Sinan County. It spans between 108 ° 6 ′ - 108 ° 16 ′ E and 27 ° 41 ′ - 27 ° 48 ′ n.

In September 2018, Tangtou town was selected into the demonstration construction list of strong agricultural towns.

It is 16.8 km long from east to west and 12.4 km wide from north to south, covering a total area of 109.8 square kilometers. It is connected with Xinglong Tujia Miao Township in the East, Banqiao Miao Township in the south, sandaoshui Tujia Township in the West and Silin Tujia Miao Township across the river in the north. Geographical features

Landform: the town area of Qiandong small basin belongs to the low hill and flat dam area of middle south temperature and summer drought in Wujiang River, and mostly belongs to the area of dissolution and erosion accumulation. The landform combination is mainly composed of dissolution accumulation terrace, flat dam and ridge valley. Historical evolution

According to historical records, Tangtou was Yangchuan County in the Tang Dynasty, which was changed to Yizhou in the second year of Wude (619), Leyuan County in Guizhou in the fourth year of Zhenguan (630), Sinan xuanweisi in the tenth year of Hongwu (1337), Shiqian Prefecture in the eleventh year of Yongle (1413), and Yinjiang, Yanhe, Wuchuan, Dejiang, Fengquan and Shiqian counties in 1914 After liberation (February 1950), Tangtou District Office was established, and it was established as Tangtou town after the town was built and the township was removed at the end of 1992.
