Xiazhai town

Xiazhai town is located in the west of Pinghe County, adjacent to Xiaoxi town in the East, Qiling Township in the west, Guoqiang Township in the south, Luxi town and shange town in the north. It is 15 kilometers away from the county. Provincial Highway Suburban Park line (212 provincial highway) passes through the territory.

Xiazhai town governs one community, 26 village committees, 269 villager groups and 329 natural villages.

In 2017, the administrative area was 20414 hectares, with 45012 permanent residents.

In June 2020, Xiazhai town was included in the list of Fujian Provincial Rural Governance demonstration towns.

Xiazhai has a sub hot climate with good temperature conditions. There are no severe heat in spring and summer, and no severe cold in winter. The first frost period is in mid December, the last frost period is in late January, and the frost free period is 310 days. The annual average rainfall is 1750-1900 mm. The planting industry has a long history. The main food crops are rice and wheat; the economic crops are sugarcane, tobacco leaf and tea; the vegetables can process and form bulk commodities, such as pickled cabbage, ginger, Dendrocalamus latiflorus, green bamboo shoots, etc.; the fruit trees are mainly famous at home and abroad, such as Zhangzhou citrus and guanxi pomelo. With the popularization of agricultural science and technology, farmers' cultivation level has been improved year by year, especially the development speed of guanxi pomelo, ginger, edible fungi, Dendrocalamus latiflorus and other agricultural products is relatively fast, and all kinds of output are in the forefront of the county.

The town is the main production area of guanxi pomelo in Pinghe, with an area of more than 80000 Mu and an annual output of more than 100000 tons. It has the largest Guanxi pomelo wholesale market in the county, and its products are sold at home and abroad.

Taking the "project promotion year" as an opportunity, the industry has stepped up efforts to attract investment, newly acquired 120 mu of land, built Wanbaoshan Industrial Zone, and 15 industrial enterprises have been put into operation. In 2006, the total industrial output value of the town was 344 million yuan, the total agricultural output value was 311 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 4050 yuan.
