Mingcheng Town, belonging to Panshi City, Jilin Province, is located in the north of Panshi City. It borders Yantongshan town in the East and North, Shizui town in the south, Chaoyang town in the southwest and Jichang town in the West. It is 27.4km away from Panshi City, with an area of 264.27km2.
In 1878, Mingcheng town was a small town, belonging to Jilin Province. In December 1980, Mingcheng commune divided Mingcheng town and Mingcheng town. In November 1984, Mingcheng town was merged into Mingcheng town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Ming town was 37249. As of June 2020, Mingcheng town has 2 communities and 18 administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed in Yiyuan community.
The main food crops in Ming cities and towns are corn, soybean and rice; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, cattle, sheep, deer and poultry; the main industries are steel, casting, mechanical processing and building materials. History of construction

In 1914, it belonged to Panshi No.2 police district. In January 1949, it belonged to ten districts (Mingcheng District).
In September 1958, Mingcheng commune was established.
In 1965, Mingcheng commune established Mingcheng town.
In 1968, Mingcheng town was incorporated into Mingcheng commune.
In December 1980, Mingcheng commune was divided into Mingcheng town and Mingcheng town.
