Haizhou Street

Haizhou street is one of the earliest large communities in Lianyungang City. It was established as early as April 1985. Haizhou District People's Government (Haizhou District Revolutionary Committee) neighborhood office. In October 1978, the sub district office of Haizhou District People's government designated the area north of Xinjian Road and added Xingfu road sub district office; the original sub district office was renamed Yanchi sub district office. In March 1984, when the Party committee was established, the street name was changed to Haizhou sub district office.

Haizhou imitates the ancient city of Ming and Qing Dynasties and is located in the territory. It is a new classical city with Bell and Drum Tower as the center, ancient archways, quyangmen, qindongmen, Dayun shopping mall and other magnificent ancient buildings as embellishments, showing its simplicity and elegance. There are shuanglongjing, baizian and other places of interest in the territory.

Population economy

Haizhou street is located in the economic, political and cultural center of Haizhou District. It covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers and has a population of 20266 (2010). Originally, there were ten Street committees, including Gulou, Shuanglong, Xinjian, Yanchi, Nanmen and BaiHushan. In October 2001, the neighborhood committees of the whole district were abolished and merged, and five community neighborhood committees were established, namely, Gulou, Shuanglong, Xinjian, Nanmen and Yanchi community residents committees, with 162 resident groups and more than 80 enterprises and institutions within the jurisdiction.

It is divided into 14 offices: Party and government office, industry, tertiary industry, civil affairs, justice, family planning, urban construction, finance, taxation, statistics and audit, comprehensive management, trade union, Communist Youth League and women's Federation.
