Zhaojun town

Zhaojun town is located in Xingshan County, Yichang City, Hubei Province.

On the morning of October 29, the Xingshan County Party committee and government held a grand renaming ceremony. Gaoyang town was officially renamed Zhaojun town. More than 10000 guests and people from all walks of life were invited to attend the 2009 Xingshan Zhaojun culture high level forum. Gaoyang town of Xingshan County is located in the middle reaches of Xiangxi River, a tributary of the Yangtze River on the North Bank of the Yangtze River. It is the original seat of Xingshan County and the last resettlement town in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. Since August 2004, 648 town residents and 340 rural migrants have been relocated. Gaoyang town has rich Zhaojun Culture and unique Zhaojun brand. The new market town after the overall relocation was renamed Zhaojun town with the approval of Hubei provincial government. It aims to fully tap Zhaojun culture, develop Zhaojun brand and vigorously develop tourism industry. The new Zhaojun town will become one of the important tourist distribution centers of the two mountains and one river tourism line in Hubei Province. The Shanghai Chengdu (North) Expressway and the reconstructed National Highway 209 pass through the town, which has been identified as the first batch of international tourism towns by the Hubei provincial government.
