Paibu town is located in the southwest of Tonggu County, 18km away from Tonggu County, adjacent to Gaocun town of Wanzai County in the East, Zhangfang town of Liuyang City in the south, Daweishan National Forest Park in the West and Yongning Town in the north. It is an important town of green food and building materials industry in Tonggu. The terrain inclines from southwest to northeast, with the highest altitude of 1396.3m and the lowest altitude of 240m. Paibu town covers an area of 131.5km2 and has 11 villages including Hualian, paibu, Meidong, Yongqing, Gaopi, Zengxi, Yongfeng, Qingxi, Huangxi, Nanxi and Sanxi, with a permanent resident population of 11444 (2017).

Paibu town is located in the southwest of Tonggu County, connecting Liuyang of Hunan Province in the West and Wanzai in the south. It is located in the border of Hunan and Jiangxi where the two provinces and three counties meet. Paibu town governs 11 administrative villages with a permanent resident population of 11444 (in 2017), with a cultivated land area of 12000 Mu and a mountain forest area of 146000 mu (including 40000 mu of Phyllostachys pubescens forest). The infrastructure is perfect, and the high-grade asphalt road leading to Changsha runs through paibu town; the three operators of China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom have already opened, with signal covering the whole town, rich in power resources, and the installed capacity of small hydropower in the town reaches 1000 kW.

Paibu is an important border town between Hunan and Jiangxi. It is located in the southwest of Tonggu County, adjacent to Wanzai in the South and Liuyang in the West. It is 20 kilometers away from the county. It is a traffic fortress from western Jiangxi to Hunan, and is a must for military strategists.

Paibu town is rich in water resources. Dingjiang River in Tonggu County originates from tieshuao, Hualian village, paibu Town, and flows through seven villages, including Hualian, paibu, Yongqing, Gaopi, Zengxi, Qingxi and Huangxi. In addition to connecting with hydropower, there are five hydropower stations in paibu Town, with a total installed capacity of 3000kW. There are abundant water resources and dozens of "mineral water" distributed in the town. There are more than ten water resources that need to be developed.

In addition, Hualian village also contains gold deposits with large mineralization range and high grade; Yongfeng Village and Zengxi village have abundant high-quality silicon deposits. The town is also rich in high-quality underground mineral water, more than 5000 tons of gold, more than 50000 tons of silicon and other underground resources.

Paibu town has formed an industrial chain with bamboo and wood processing as the leading industry, and initially formed three large-scale enterprises with an annual output of 300000 square meters of bamboo flooring, 3000 tons of canned bamboo shoots and 10000 square meters of bamboo plywood. In agriculture, 2 million bags of shiitake mushrooms are planted annually, all of which are sold to large and medium-sized cities such as Guangdong, Shanghai, Changsha and Shenzhen. Paibu town is rich in high mountain off-season vegetables, rare medicinal materials (Gastrodia elata and Eucommia ulmoides), edible fungus, black goat and other green food. In forestry, through mountain reconstruction, renovation and returning farmland to forest, there are high-yield Phyllostachys pubescens forest base with an annual output of 300000 Phyllostachys pubescens and 2000 tons of fresh bamboo shoots, 400 mu small bamboo shoots base and 50000 Mu fast-growing and high-yield forest base. Paibu has formed two leading industries: bamboo and wood processing enterprises dominated by Huihuang, Huahui, Jinren and meihua, and bamboo shoot canned food of "Jishan".

In 2006, more than 30 mu of soybeans were planted in Huangxi village, paibu Town, and a good harvest was achieved that year. In 2007, more than 1000 mu of soybeans were planted in Huangxi village. In 2008, 300 mu of rice, 100 mu of watermelon, 100 mu of ginger, 80 mu of strawberry, 50 mu of sweet corn and 40 mu of Luffa were planted. In order to improve the land use efficiency, the villagers of Huangxi adopted the method of land rotation, planting one season of rice and another season of soybeans, and interplanting corn, soybeans, lentils, luffa and cantaloupe in the ginger field. No chemical fertilizer was applied to all crops. In 2008, the per capita planting area of ginger was 3 mu, and the yield per mu was 3000 kg, with an annual income of 18000 yuan.

Infrastructure

Paibu town supported the development of education, invested 400000 yuan to build the teaching building of the Town Central Primary School, and invested 600000 yuan to build two village level hope primary schools, which greatly improved the education infrastructure. We have done a good job in sanitation and epidemic prevention. In 2001, 400000 yuan was invested in the construction of the outpatient complex building of the town health center, which improved the medical and health conditions of paibu town.

Paibu town of Tonggu County organized more than 100 village cadres, Party members and volunteers of various branches, and personnel of Baocun units to carry out afforestation, soil preparation, burrowing and poplar planting beside the four village roads of Sanxi village, Huangxi village, Nanxi village and Yongqing Village. At the same time, we cooperated with the technical supervision group of forestry department to carry out the construction according to the technical regulations of poplar afforestation; we also established a quality supervision group composed of professional and technical personnel to ensure the survival rate of seedlings. By the end of 2008, paibu town had afforested 25 kilometers of village roads and planted more than 24000 poplar trees.

Tourist attractions

1. Mao Zedong's escape: located in Hualian village, paibu. In September 1927, in order to lead the Autumn Harvest Uprising on the border between Hunan and Jiangxi, Comrade Mao Zedong rushed from Anyuan to Tonggu. When he arrived at the border between Liuyang and Tonggu, he was detained by the regiment defense team. On the way to the regiment defense Bureau, that is, Yuexing formation of Hualian village, Comrade Mao Zedong wisely used a handful of silver dollars, put aside the Tuan Ding's tracking, jumped into the roadside ditch to hide, and was able to get out of danger, and rushed to Tonggu County the next day. This is where Mao Zedong got out of danger.

2. Longevity Palace: located in paibu Yongqing Village. With an area of 714 m2, it is a quadrangle style brick and wood structure, with two buildings in front and one stage in front. On September 15, 1927, when Mao Zedong led the third regiment of the workers' and peasants' revolutionary army to return to tonggupaibu from Shangping, Liuyang, the regiment headquarters were stationed here. Mao Zedong stayed in the first room on the left of Houdong hall and held a mass meeting in front of the stage. The Longevity Palace was renovated in 1978 and is one of the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the county.
