Shentou town

Shuocheng Shentou town is located at the foot of Hongtao mountain, the source of Sanggan River. There are 30 administrative villages in the town, with a permanent resident population of 30464 (in 2017), and cultivated land of 62335 mu.

In November 2017, Shentou town was awarded the fifth national civilized village.

Historical evolution

In 1946, it belonged to Honghao first class township. Shentou commune was established in 1958, and dafuzhuang commune was established in 1961. In 1984, it changed to Shentou township (Shentou town was built in the same year) and dafuzhuang township. In 1996, Shentou town covers an area of 159.29 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 30464 (in 2017). It governs 23 administrative villages, including dongshentou, xishentou, Dadao, beishaozhuang, simapo, Changcun, Miaoshan, Fuzhuang, maodao, Jizhuang, wuyouzhuang, Xiaopo, Mayi, wangqiong, guojiayao, Xinmo, Balipu, Xiying temple, Yechang, Yandun, dongshaozhuang, xiaxiguan and Shenxi; dafuzhuang The township covers an area of 59 square kilometers and has a population of 11000. It governs 11 administrative villages, including daduzhuang, honghaotou, matiaozhuang, Shuimotou, Xinwen, xiaoxihedi, chenxihedi, Dongyulin, shatuan, Dishang and Yugou. In 2001, dafuzhuang township was abolished and merged into Shentou Town, and Dawa, WangMian and simabo villages were put under the jurisdiction of Shentou street. It covers an area of 162 square kilometers and has a total population of 36061, including 13340 non-agricultural people. It has jurisdiction over 30 administrative villages.

Economic overview
