Hekou town is a pure agricultural town. It is one of the main grain producing areas in Jiangyou City. It produces rice, corn, wheat, oil crops and a variety of crops (ginger, sea pepper, watermelon, tomato, apple, pear and other fruits). In 2002, we actively promoted the process of agricultural industrialization and vigorously adjusted the internal structure of agriculture. The ratio of grain to economy has reached 6:4, and the per capita net income of farmers is 2304 yuan.

Animal husbandry production is to raise pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, focusing on the development of piglet project. A breeding farm for improved breeds of pigs has been established, which can provide 500 piglets and sows per year, laying a foundation for breed improvement and speeding up the project of Hekou 100000 piglets. Small Tail Han sheep were introduced from Shandong Province for trial rearing. Planting grass and raising livestock has great potential and will be the focus of animal husbandry development in the future.
