Huayuan Township belongs to Guannan County, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the east of Guannan County, bordering Bailu town in the East, Xinji Town in the south, sankou town in the north and Xin'an town in the West. The total area is 66.3 square kilometers, and the cultivated land is 40830 mu. It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, 129 villager groups, 9044 households and 34000 people.

In 2013, the administrative division of Guannan county was adjusted. Huayuan Township and Xinji Township were abolished, and the former Huayuan Township and Xinji Township were merged to establish a new market town.

Historical evolution

In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was under the jurisdiction of Xinguan City, Guanyun county;

In 1929, it belonged to the third district of Guanyun county;

In 1945, the territory belonged to yanmiao District of Liandong county;

In 1946, yanmiao district was renamed as Sien District, and its administration remained unchanged;

In 1949, the whole territory was liberated, and it still belongs to Sien District of Liandong county;

In 1950, Liandong county was abolished and the original jurisdiction was assigned to Lianshui County;

In 1954, Xien district was abolished and Huayuan township was changed into Bailu District of Lianshui County;

In 1957, Bailu district was abolished and other towns were merged into Bailu Township and Huayuan township. The former Township on the West Bank of Yifan river was classified as Huayuan township;

On March 1, 1958, Guannan county was established, and Huayuan township was transformed into a new Guannan county;

In September 1958, Huayuan township was renamed Huayuan people's commune, and the village under its jurisdiction was transformed into a production brigade;

In 1983, the government and the community were separated. Huayuan people's commune was changed into Huayuan Township, and the original production brigade was built into a village.

On March 2, 2013, with the approval of the people's Government of Jiangsu Province, Huayuan Township and Xinji Township were abolished, and the original villages of the two townships were merged and a new market town was established.

Yuanhuayuan township is located in the eastern suburb of Guannan County, adjacent to Yifan River in the East and urban area in the West. Provincial highway 326 passes through the country, with convenient water and land transportation and obvious location advantages.

Huayuan township is well-developed in transportation, with 326 provincial road and Xingang Avenue passing through. The planned Guannan railway station is only 20 km away from the territory. After its opening in the future, there will be direct trains to Nanjing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Wuxi, Huai'an and other cities. It will also take only one hour to drive from Lianshui airport and baitabu airport of Lianyungang.
