Shimen town
Shimen Town, belonging to Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County. It is adjacent to huazangsi town in the East, wushengyi town in Yongdeng County in the south, saishisi temple in the southwest, Tanshanling town in the West and Dachaigou town in the north. The administrative area is 194.9 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Shimen town was 6313.
Shimen town is named after the narrow two mountains in the territory, and the stone cliff at the confrontation is shaped like a gate. It is called Yarlung terqin in Tibetan. In Yuan Dynasty, Shimen town belonged to Zhuanglang County; in October 1968, it was incorporated into Dongfanghong commune; in August 1970, it was the Shimen, Kuangou and Hewan brigade of chakouyi commune; in April 1983, it was abolished and Shimen township was established; in August 2002, it was withdrawn and Shimen town was built. History of construction
In Yuan Dynasty, Shimen town belonged to Zhuanglang County.
In the Ming Dynasty, Zhuanglang County was changed into Zhuanglang Wei.
In 1753, Zhuanglang tea horse was under the jurisdiction of Tongzhi.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was under the jurisdiction of Pingfan county.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), it belonged to Zhuanglang tea and Ma Lipan Tongzhi.
In 1928, it was the seventh Baotou in Tianzhu District of Yongdeng County.
In May 1950, it was the seventh township of Tianzhu autonomous region.
In September 1952, it was Shimen Township, belonging to the second district.
In December 1958, it was the chakouyi brigade of jinqiangyi commune.
In December 1961, it was returned to chakouyi commune.
In July 1962, it was called Shimen commune.
In October 1968, it was incorporated into Dongfanghong commune.
In August 1970, it was the Shimen, Kuangou and Hewan brigades of chakouyi commune.
In April 1983, the commune was abolished and Shimen township was established.
In August 2002, the township was removed and Shimen town was built.

Shimen town is high in the West and low in the southeast, with hilly and semi mountainous terrain. The main mountains in Shimen town are Maya snow mountain, biaojan mountain and hongyaziliang. Tianmaling, the highest peak in the territory, is located at the intersection of Shimen town southwest and saishi Town, with an altitude of 3770 meters; the lowest point is located in Shijiagou formation of chachawa village, with an altitude of 2535 meters.

Shimen town is a temperate continental semi-arid climate. The average annual temperature is 1.5 ℃, and the relative frost free period is 120 days. The annual average precipitation is about 420 mm, and the rainfall is mainly concentrated from July to September, accounting for 60% of the annual precipitation.

The main river in Shimen town is Shimen river. From Yuanshanzi entry, from west to East into Jinqiang River (into Yongdeng County, known as Zhuanglang River). The river is about 31 kilometers long, belonging to the Yellow River system.

The main natural disasters in Shimen town are flood, drought and hail. Flood disasters occur in different degrees every year. The most serious one occurred at 2:00 p.m. on June 7, 2002. The rainstorm lasted for about 30 minutes. Eight villages in Shimen town suffered from flood disasters in different degrees, resulting in two deaths, 3600 mu of farmland inundation, 1600 head (piece) of livestock washed away, and more than 340 people evacuated urgently, resulting in economic loss of 3.1 million yuan.
