Taoyuan Town

Taoyuan town is located 12 kilometers south of Suzhou City, adjacent to Jinhai street in the north, Qixian town in the south, daze town in the East and Nanping Town in Suixi County in the west, covering an area of nearly 90 square kilometers.

Evolution of organizational system

In 2004, Yongqiao District merged Taoyuan town and Beiyangzhai Township into a new Taoyuan Town, and the town government moved to beiyangzhaiji.

In 2009, with the consent of Anhui provincial government and the reply of Anhui Provincial Department of civil affairs, the two neighborhood committees of heguai and Houfu in Taoyuan Town, the five village committees of Wangqiao, Yandian, Liqiao, Liuhe and shaowang, the wangxu neighborhood committee and Chenying neighborhood committee of sanliwan street and the Qili Village Committee of Chengdong street were set up. Jinhai street was set up and its office was located in Suzhou economic development zone.

In June 2020, it was awarded the title of "the fifth civilized village in Anhui Province".

administrative division

It has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages and 108 natural villages, with a cultivated area of 3804 hectares. In 2009, it produced 44525 tons of grain, and the total output value of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry was 182.35 million yuan. There are 30 industrial enterprises of various types and 3 Enterprises above Designated Size, with a total amount of 140 million yuan. The 206 National Highway and Hefei Xuzhou Expressway pass through the area. The total length of highways above district level in the town is 70 kilometers, with convenient transportation. Taoyuan Coal Mine and Qianying coal mine are the national large-scale coal mines. Qianying coal mine railway line put into operation. Lucheng site in the jurisdiction is an ancient cultural site with Neolithic remains as the main body. It is located on the North Bank of Qia River in Shiguang village.
