Toptierek town

Tuoputierek Town, belonging to Jimunai County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the middle of Jimunai county. It is adjacent to tuoputierek Township in the East, keziletas peak in the south, tuoputierek Township in the West and tuoputierek Township in the north. It is the resident of Jimunai County People's government. In 2018, the area of top tyre area was 6.18 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 10982.

The town of toptiereke, formerly known as toptiereke village, was established in 1930; in 1951, it was the residence of the Second District of the county; in 1958, it was established as the red flag commune; in April 1983, it was changed into toptiereke town. In June 2020, the town of toptierek has four neighborhood committees.

History and culture

Name and origin

Toptierek, in Kazakh, means poplar bush. In the early years, there were more than 20 big poplars in the territory, so it was named.
