Gongxi town

The administrative area of Gongxi town is the former administrative area of Gongxi Township, which governs 13 villages with a total area of 71.50 square kilometers and a total population of 10654 people (in 2017). The town people's government is stationed in Gongxi Village (the former residence of Gongxi Township People's Government).

Historical evolution

Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County governs the township. Gongxi township was established in 1956, merged with Fuluo commune in 1958, established in 1961, and rebuilt in 1984. Gongxi township is located in the south of the county, 26.5 kilometers away from the county. It is bounded by Bangdong town and Pingdi town in Tianzhu County of Guizhou Province in the East, South and West. In 2015, towns were set up instead of townships.
