Xialaoba Township, belonging to Balikun Kazakh Autonomous County, Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Balikun County, adjacent to salqiaoke Township in the East, Hami City in the south, Mulei County in the west, and dahongliuxia Township in the north. The area is 2474 square kilometers. In 2018, 6865 people registered residence.

From 1958 to 1983, it belonged to the sarjok commune. In 1984, xialaoba township was built. As of October 2019, xialaoba township has jurisdiction over three administrative villages.
