Xie Village

Xiecun town belongs to Yang County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the southwest of Yangxian County, on the North Bank of Hanjiang River, adjacent to Qishi street in the East, Hanjiang River in the south, Machang town in the West and Yishui town in the north. Its total area is 75.10 square kilometers.

In Xiecun Town, there is a provincial cultural relic protection unit Zhiguo temple, which was built in the Ming Dynasty. There are more than 10 well preserved three storey Sutra collection buildings, Buddha Hall and wing rooms.

As of June 2020, Xie village has 2 communities and 26 administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Xie village was 63948. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Xiecun town reached 30.14 million yuan, and the total industrial output value reached 312 million yuan.

Historical evolution

Because most of the villagers were surnamed Xie, they were named Xie village at the beginning. They became a market town in the Song Dynasty and set up Xie village in the Qing Dynasty.

In the Northern Song Dynasty, it belonged to Xingdao county. In June of the first year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1862), after LAN Dashun, a peasant rebel army in Zhaotong, Yunnan Province, conquered the county seat of Yang County, Mao zhenshou, the fan Secretary of Shaanxi Province, moved the county to the present site.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was a county town.

During the second Civil Revolutionary War, it was the seat of the Western District Committee of Yangxian County of the Communist Party of China, and also the main area of the second guerrilla brigade of the red 29 army.

In 1951, a township office was set up.

In 1958, there was no administrative area.

In 1983, the township was established.

In 1984, Xiecun township was established as an established town.

In July 2011, Heshui town was merged into Xiecun town.

Zhiguo Temple

Zhiguo temple was built in Tang Yifeng years (676-679), and was repaired in song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. At that time, the temple covered an area of about 53 mu, with a large scale and many temples. Today's Great Buddha Hall and Sutra collection building were built in the yuan and Ming Dynasties; the rest of the wing rooms and ear rooms were built after the Qing Dynasty. Zhiguo temple was once famous for eight landscapes, such as "Gaoge Sutra collection", "Shengyu Shenbei", "shijingzhao Ren", "Nanyuan pagoda", "kuilou WangHan", "ancient city ruins", "Dongting Xiaozhong", "Xiangtai Sleeping Buddha".

On May 3, 2013, Zhiguo temple was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.

Juehuang Hall of Liangma Temple

Juehuang Hall of Liangma temple is located in Sihong village, xiechun Town, 17 kilometers west of Yangxian county. Built in 1261, the hall is 18 meters long, 15 meters wide, 12 meters high, 5 rooms wide, with double false angdou arches and Xieshan peak. It is the only Yuan Dynasty building in Hanzhong with excellent architecture and unique carving,

Xuantai community fire in Yangxian County

Xuantai community fire in Yangxian county has a history of more than 300 years. It has five or six layers of beams, and twenty-four people carry it on their shoulders. Because of its height, thrilling, ingenious and marvelous, it gives people a great visual impact. It is a living fossil for studying the development of drama, dance, music, art and acrobatics in the local and even in China.

In May 2007, Yangxian xuantai community fire art was listed in the first batch of representative works of intangible cultural heritage projects in Shaanxi Province. In June 2008, it was announced by the State Council as the representative work of the first batch of intangible cultural heritage extension projects of the people's Republic of China.
