Township was established in 1966 and commune was established in 1971. In 1988, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. In 1996, with a population of about 22000, it has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages including Kao, Zhixiong, Tanggang, Dagong, dingba, dingfuxu, zhierguo, zongre, shuzongka and Daliang, and the township government is stationed in Dakang (first, it has jurisdiction over Biguo, tangret, Powa, dingba, sangzongni, decha, ruzongka, Danao, tumei, etc.). Geography
The total area of cultivated land is 228.39 hectares. There are 25120 livestock in stock. There are two temples in the area: Zhenda temple and xiacha temple. there are a certain number of forest and wildlife resources in the township. The famous zongque mountain is located in 10 villages of the township. Chiduo township has deep mountains and deep gullies, and the Nujiang River flows through the territory (there is no bridge on the river that can be opened to traffic). It is recognized as a township with traffic lag and information blocking in the whole county. Up to now, it is still one of the three townships that can only be opened to traffic seasonally. Since 2007, the construction of rewa Chiduo highway has started. After completion, it is expected to change the situation of travel difficulties, inconvenient life and information blocking in the township for a long time.
