traffic
With the opening of the Qinghai Tibet railway, the scale of Lhasa city is expanding. The old "old city" is difficult to meet the needs of the rapid development of Lhasa city. Therefore, the government of Tibet Autonomous Region decided to build a new city in Liuwu Township, where Lhasa railway station is located. The planned Liuwu new district is located in duilongdeqing County on the southeast Bank of Lhasa River, just one river away from Potala Palace, where Lhasa station of Qinghai Tibet railway is set up. At present, there is only a 10 km long highway from Liuwu new area to the old city, so the traffic is very inconvenient. Therefore, the Liuwu Bridge under construction has become a key project for the development of Liuwu new area. The 1660 meter long Liuwu Bridge is the first overpass in Tibet. It will take only 10 minutes from the railway station to the Potala Palace.
