It is 9 kilometers away from the people's Government of Qinghe County, with a total area of 77.71 square kilometers.

In 1953, baying township was established in the area of baying town; in 1985, it was changed from baying township to baying town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Daming town was 53815. As of June 2020, there are 49 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of baying Town, and the people's Government of baying town is stationed in qianbaying village.
