Songjiang town is under the jurisdiction of Bin County. It is located in the south of the county, at the north foot of diaoshuihuling, adjacent to Acheng District of Harbin in the south, and 35 km away from the county seat.
Historical evolution
Songjiang town resident, formerly known as "gongpengzi", got its name because during the period of the Republic of China (1912-1931), there were charcoal burning workers who went to the mountain to stay here. Later, it was changed into "bow shed". In March 1956, the village was merged and designated as a natural village under the jurisdiction of Pingfang township. The survey started in 1958, and many copper and zinc deposits were found. In 1969, the Songjiang copper mine was established in gongpengzi with the investment of northeast nonferrous metal Administration Bureau of the Ministry of metallurgy. With the development of the mining area and the increase of population, the town was established in June 1972 and named Songjiang town.
geographical environment
The whole terrain of Songjiang town is high in the South and low in the north. Xianglulazi mountain is located in the south of the town, with the main peak at an altitude of 623 meters. The total area of the town is 125.6 square kilometers, with 27000 mu of arable land.

It is an industrial and mining town in mountainous area. It mainly serves the mining area.
Agriculture
Vegetable planting has formed regionalization, with 6 production specialized villages and villages such as leek and cucumber; luocaigou village, Xinfa village, is a cattle breeding specialized village, which has driven the development of the whole town's breeding industry. In 1990, each farmer raised an average of 1.9 cattle and 3.4 commercial pigs.

Population nationality
At the end of 1992, the total population of the town was 17400, including 7058 non-agricultural people, and the population of Manchu, Hui and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 3.7%.
