Xinan Township

Old town name. The former Xinan township has 10 administrative villages, 90 communities, 6750 people (2017), 7840 mu of cultivated land, 17.5 square kilometers, 27.6 kilometers away from Xichong County.

In October 2019, Xinan Township and Qinglong township will be abolished, and their administrative areas will be put under the jurisdiction of Yixing town. The people's Government of Yixing town will be stationed at No. 17, Section 1 of Rongxing Avenue.

The township has such pillar industries as silkworm, jujube and Yunnan pumpkin, among which jujube is 100 mu, and 100000 jujube trees are improved and grafted; 115000 newly planted silkworm and 350000 improved and grafted silkworm are newly planted; 350 mu of Yunnan pumpkin is newly planted, which opens up the market of "West rolling pumpkin", and vigorously develops the sowing surface of sea pepper, oil and other economic crops, realizing the per capita income increase of about 210 yuan in cash.
