Jiujia town is located in the northeast of Zhenyuan Yi Hani Lahu Autonomous County and the south foot of Ailao Shanxi. There are Aogu River, Xiaojie River, Dulu River and Zhegan river. It borders sanzhangtian Township in the southeast, Ganhe Township in the southwest, Huashan Township in Jingdong County, Ejia Township in Shuangbai County in the north, and Liangzi, the main peak of Ailao Mountain in Zhilong town in Xinping County in the northeast. It is 78 kilometers away from Zhenyuan County.
In October 2015, it was listed by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development and the National Tourism Administration as the third batch of national characteristic landscape tourism towns and villages.

The southern foot of Ailao is adjacent to Huashan Township in Jingdong County, Ejia town in Shuangbai County, Zhelong Township in xinanping county and sanzhangtian Township in this county. The annual average temperature is 170C and the annual average precipitation is 1600 mm. There are Aogu River, Xiaojie River, Dulu River and Zhegan river flowing through the territory. Due to its location in Ailao Mountains, it is rich in lead, zinc, coal, gold, copper and other mineral resources. In Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve, there are qianjiazhai provincial scenic spot, 2700 year old ancient tea tree king and ten thousand mu wild tea tree community, beautiful snow pot mountain, majestic large and small diaoshui waterfalls, and groups of parrots.

The total cultivated land area of the township is 21969 mu, including 5904 mu of paddy field and 16065 mu of farmland, with 1.4 mu of cultivated land per capita.
