One town is subordinate to Ninghai County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is located in the south of Ninghai County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. It is adjacent to Xiangshan Port in the East, Sanmen Bay in the south, Sanmen County in the west, Ninghai city in the north, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea. It is the South Gate of Ninghai County. With a land area of 108 square kilometers (2017), it has jurisdiction over 21 administrative villages, 43 natural villages, 1 neighborhood committee and a population of 15630 (2017). One town government is about 11 kilometers away from Ninghai County and 75 kilometers away from Ningbo City.

Historical evolution

Guanling Township, the predecessor of a town, has experienced eight evolutions since 1949. From 1949 to 1950, it was called Maolin Township, belonging to an urban area. Since 1950, the old township system has been abolished and renamed Guanling Township, which is under the jurisdiction of an urban area. In February 1956, small townships merged with big townships. Lingtou township (Lizhu, Waizhu, fahongkeng, shanshangshang), wu'ao township (Niutai) and qian'ao Township were merged into Guanling Township from the original Guanling and some Autonomous Villages of Sanxiao township. They belong to an urban area. When the people's commune became cooperative in October 1958, Ninghai and Xiangshan merged into counties, and Guanling township was transformed into a production unit.
