Longtan town

Longtan town is subordinate to Gongjing District, Zigong City, Sichuan Province. It is located on both sides of Xushui River, 25 km away from the urban area. Gaoli road and gongshuang road cross the town, covering an area of 52.99 square kilometers, with a total population of 24203 (2017).

Longtan town is the second-line vegetable land in Zigong City. It takes the scale development of happy group 1 and Miaoshan group 4 and 5 as the leading to expand the town. It mainly grows pollution-free vegetables and pays close attention to off-season vegetables. Its main products include tomatoes, eggplant, sea pepper, lotus root, etc. In 2005, the vegetable planting area was 16370 mu, including 9015 mu of tomato, 2550 mu of eggplant, 245 mu of sea pepper and 250 mu of lotus root, with an output of 64442 tons, including 53875 tons of tomato, 8500 tons of eggplant, 85 tons of sea pepper and 280 tons of lotus root.

Economic overview

The town agricultural service center makes full use of the two brands of "Zigong Xulong vegetable company" and "Longtan town vegetable association", Gongjing District, Zigong City, and adheres to the path of "company + farmer" and "association + farmer", so that the vegetables of Longtan town are exported to Chengdu, Chongqing, Luzhou, Yibin and other places, and the vegetable farmers have obtained better economic benefits.
