Tanglang Township
Tanglang township is located in the northwest of Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County, at the junction of two provinces and three counties, 137 km away from Luquan County. It is connected with jiaopingdu town in the East, sayingpan town in the south, Wuding County in Chuxiong Prefecture in the west, and capital County of Sichuan Province across the river in the north.
The township governs Tanglang, pumo, Dianwen, xizha, Wujia, Yangcao, Banqiao, Fengguo, Daijia, 9 village committees and 97 villager groups. There are 3708 households in the township with a total population of 15210 people (in 2017). There are four ethnic groups, Han, Yi, Dai and Susu. It is a multi-ethnic remote mountain area. The highest altitude is 2950 meters, and the lowest is 950 meters, which is a typical three-dimensional climate. The total land area of the township is 210.16 square kilometers.

The annual average temperature is 14.3 ℃ and the annual rainfall is 1090 mm. It is suitable for planting tobacco, corn, rice, Roselle, peanut, sugarcane, white kidney bean and other crops. The territory is rich in mineral resources, including iron, copper, zinc, white marble, seven color stone, mung bean stone, etc. Tanglang hanbaiyu and xizha iron mine have been officially mined. In order to change the poverty and backwardness of Tanglang Township, the world bank's southwest poverty alleviation project has invested 37 million yuan to irrigate the 3160 meter long baojiaping tunnel, so that farmers of village committees in Tanglang, pumo, Dianwen and xizha dry hot valley areas can see the dawn of getting rid of poverty and heading for a well-off life.
