By 2019, Chigang town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 15 administrative villages.

English song and dance

Yingge dance is a kind of folk square dance in Chaoshan area, which integrates dance, Nanquan routine and opera performance skills. The performance is magnificent and the atmosphere is strong. Xiangchuanying's singing and dancing began in the Ming Dynasty, based on the story of the heroes of Liangshanpo who made a big noise in damingfu during the Lantern Festival in Shuihu. Jieyang Chaoshan Yingge dance has a history of more than 300 years. It is popular in Puning, Jiedong and other places. Puning's Yingge dance is the most famous, known as the "hometown of Yingge dance".

Out of the garden

This is the custom of Puning, equivalent to the adult ceremony. People live to be 15 years old. On the seventh day of the seventh month of the seventh lunar month in that year, they held a banquet to pay homage to their parents in law. At the banquet, they sat down and presided over the dinner. The dishes were made of more and more complete pig viscera to show that they had "belly" (mind) when they grew up. At the banquet, their parents announced that they had become adults.

As soon as the gate is opened at the beginning of July, it will be closed on the 30th of July. In the seventh month of the lunar calendar, there are grand activities in Puning, Chaozhou and Shantou. For many years, it has been handed down from generation to generation.

The customs of Shigu and Xianggu are similar, with Chigang as a representative.

There is a Meifeng nunnery in Meitang. The Bodhisattva in the nunnery is called "merciful empress".

It is said that the compassionate lady has a Bodhisattva's heart, which is good at helping the poor and the vulnerable, and helping all living beings. It is deeply respected by the villagers of the surrounding thirteen villages, namely "Thirteen townships".

On the 15th of July, outside the nunnery, there were many believers, cigarettes and wooden fish. The celebration was grand and warm.

There are two "solitary kings" at the gate of the nunnery. They are made of bamboo and paper. They are as tall as the roof of "four gold" and as big as tons of oil tanks. They are majestic and frightening. At the end of the celebration, they are cremated.
