Liutong Town, Xiuwen County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is located in the northwest of the county, 50 kilometers away from the county. With a total area of 109 square kilometers, it governs 13 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee, 188 villager groups, 7579 families, 119 surnames and 28609 people. There are six nationalities including Han, Miao, Yi, Buyi, Nanjing and Bai.
geographical environment
The altitude of the whole town is between 700 and 1429 meters, which belongs to the typical climate of Guizhou Plateau. The average annual rainfall is about 986 mm. The average annual temperature is between 12.80c and 14.50c, the cold winter is short, the temperature is constant, and the temperature difference is small. It borders dashibuyi town with gongjishan mountain range in the south, Shidong town of Xifeng County with qishanpo mountain range in the East, GuanZhai village and jiuzhuang town of Xifeng County in the north, and Jinsha and Qianxi counties across Liuguang River in the West. Gongjishan mountain range, Qishan mountain range, silengbei mountain range and jiulinggang mountain range form the skeleton of Liutong terrain. Fengzui mountain is like a flying phoenix, crawling in the hinterland of the town, overlooking the fertile land. Liuguang river is the main artery of the town and the throat leading to Qianxi and Jinsha. Qingshuigou water system, Zhenzhu water system and Liujiagou water system irrigate several major rice producing areas, such as Jinxing, Hualang, Laihe, Shitou, Daxing, Fenglian and Chunjiang. Jinxing reservoir is a pearl inlaid in the East and a beautiful scenery in the town.

It is bounded by gongjishan mountain in the South and dashibuyi Township, qishanpo mountain in the East and Shidong township of Xifeng County, GuanZhai village in the north and jiuzhuang town of Xifeng County, and faces Jinsha and Qianxi counties across Liuguang River in the West. Gongjishan mountain range, Qishan mountain range, silengbei mountain range and jiulinggang mountain range form the skeleton of Liutong terrain. The territory is rich in vegetation and fertile soil. Forest farms are mainly distributed in Hualang, Heyin and Jinxing; grassland is mainly distributed in Pingshan, Hetian SANGUOZHUANG, Zheshang and jiulinggang. Paddy fields are mainly distributed in Shiban, Shitou, Daxing, Jinxing, Heyin, Hualang, Laihe, Fenglian, Chunjiang, Fuxing, Zhatu, Shunjiang and other villages. The rest of the area is mainly dry land, mainly producing rice, corn, soybean, wheat, rape, potato, tobacco and so on. The total cultivated land area of the township is 36419 mu, including 5174 mu of paddy field. The annual rice yield is 2453000 kg, corn yield is 4421000 kg, soybean yield is 309000 kg, potato yield is 1 million kg and wheat yield is 1378000 kg. The main economic crops are flue-cured tobacco and rape. The annual yield of flue-cured tobacco is 1.06 million kg and that of rape is 1.015 million kg. Peaches, crisp plums and other fruits are all over the countryside. The three villages along the river have low altitude and no severe cold in winter. They are rich in citrus, and can produce 70000 kg of Citrus throughout the year.
The area of non cultivated land in the township is about 39616 mu, including 6445 mu of forage, mainly distributed in jiulinggang and Pingshan, which is conducive to the development of aquaculture.
There are limestone karst area and shale geological area in the township, and there are rich mineral resources. Large and small caves are scattered all over the world. At the juncture of Xifeng and the "hiding soldier cave", Laoxiao cave, guanniu cave, Tianbao cave, Hejia cave and other caves in the township are famous for their unique scenery. Shale geological areas are mainly distributed in Baoping, Fuxing, Daxin and Zhatu villages. Shale is a good raw material for shale brick production. The main mineral deposits are coal mine, pyrite, mercury mine and iron mine. Coal mines are mainly distributed in nine villages, including Jinxing, Heyin, Laihe, Hualang, Shitou, Daxing, Shunjiang, Lianhe and Haima; pyrites are mainly distributed in Laihe village; mercury mines are mainly distributed in Heyin, Jinxing and Liutong villages.
Infrastructure
Xiuwen Huangjin highway, Haima highway, Liutong jiuzhuang highway, GuanZhai highway, Hualang highway and Pingshan highway run through the hinterland of Liutong township. Rural roads extend in all directions, together with Wujiang River water transport, forming a fine traffic network in the whole Township, driving the development of the six barrel economy. since the 10KVA high-voltage transmission and distribution line was put on the shelf in 1976 with the support of the ninth Hydropower Bureau, the situation of lighting with tung oil lamp, kerosene lamp and candle for hundreds of years has been gradually replaced by electricity in the countryside. After the rural power grid transformation at the end of the 20th century, the township has realized a standardized and safe rural power grid, which not only brings light to more than 28000 residents in the township, but also becomes a very important power source for various workshops and coal mines.
