Daotuo township is located 8 kilometers north of Yishui County. It is named because the township government is located in the south of daotuo village. It is said that in the middle of Ming Dynasty, Xiang family moved to this village from Xiang family village. Later, Huang family came to live. The villagers set up a shop in front of the road and named it daotuodian. Daotuo township was originally daotuo district. In 1985, daotuo district was replaced by daotuo township. With a total area of 89.65 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 54000 mu, it governs 43 administrative villages with 37027 people (2017). In recent years, the township's economy and social undertakings have been booming, and it has won the honorary titles of "advanced grass-roots unit of safe Shandong construction", "civilized villages and towns in the city", "advanced unit of safe production in the city".

Daotuo township is adjacent to Ju county in the East, Yishui town in the southwest, Yishui town and Zhuge town in the west, and Gaoqiao Town in the north.

With convenient transportation, Donghong (Dongying to honghuabu) highway runs through the north and south, daoju (daotuo to Juxian) highway runs through the East and West, and the entrance and exit of Changshen (Changchun to Shenzhen) highway is located in the township government, 10 km away from Qinghong (Qingdao to Xinjiang red flag Lafu) highway.

Tourism resources are very rich. Located 7 kilometers southeast of the township, niuxin Notre Dame mountain is famous for more than 90% of the people in niuxin village believe in Catholics. It is one of the earliest and largest places for Catholic activities in Yimeng mountain area. The cultural landscape mainly includes Notre Dame church, Catholic Church and "Fourteen places" where Jesus died. On May 13 every year, Catholics from Beijing, Tianjin, Dalian and other parts of the country come here to worship Notre Dame. Niuxin Guanzhuang Catholic Church has a history of more than 100 years. It is located 12 kilometers northeast of Yishui County, with convenient transportation and elegant environment. In 1901 (the 27th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), German priest Wen was transferred to Yishui city to preach. The villagers of niuxin Guanzhuang were attracted by the charity of the Catholic Church, and the number of Baptists continued to increase. Later, under the leadership of Hou LAN, the president of the village, all the villagers were baptised. At first, the church was five thatched cottages. In the same year, the niuxin church built the Notre Dame church on niuxin mountain, 1.5 kilometers south of the village (rebuilt in 1926). In 1902 (the 28th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), a magnificent Catholic Church, church and its houses were built in the middle of the village (rebuilt twice from 1930 to 1956), a nunnery, a pharmacy for western medicine, a preaching school, a kitchen, a dormitory and other houses were built, and a primary school was set up. By the late Guangxu period, niuxintang district had become the second main hall District in Yishui County after Wangzhuang chief priest District, with seven foreign priests successively in charge of academic affairs. Due to years of war and tension, foreign priests in our church have been withdrawn one after another, and Chinese priests are responsible for the educational affairs. In 1958, the Catholic Church and Notre Dame church were demolished, and the educational activities stopped. It was not until 1978 that the educational administration activities gradually resumed. In 1988, the Church of Notre Dame was rebuilt, with three rooms, 9.7 meters long, 5.7 meters wide and 4 meters high. In the same year, the Catholic Church was rebuilt with 8 churches, 25 meters long, 10 meters wide, 9 meters high, and 13 rooms. In 1993, the diocese raised funds to rebuild 14 large open-air buildings. In March 2002, the whole mount Notre Dame was implemented. In May 2004, the Notre Dame hall on the top of the mountain was rebuilt, 24 meters long, 12 meters wide, 33 meters high, with 5 rooms. Niuxin village is a well-known religious village in Linyi diocese. It is also the cradle of nuns' holy call. Most nuns serve the churches in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and other provinces. The church cemetery of Linyi diocese is located on Mount Notre Dame. After many years of planting trees and flowers, we have afforested Mt. Notre Dame. Now a winding mountain road leads directly to Notre Dame hall. On both sides of the road, there are 14 large grass ornaments, which makes pilgrims feel relaxed and happy and nostalgic for going back and forth. the natural scenic spots include Shimen mountain, hedgehog stone and Shimen cave, which are adjacent to mount Notre Dame. Hedgehog stone is like a hedgehog lying on its back. It is lifelike and lifelike. The entrance of Shimen cave is formed by two natural stones. The air inside the cave is cool. In rainstorm weather, the sound of water inside the cave is like thunder, and the smoke is curling at the entrance. Shimen mountain is densely wooded and overgrown with weeds. Wild birds and mammals live here. And with the rich water resources of hujiazhuang reservoir at the foot of Mount Notre Dame and the green trees on the bank, it has become a good place for people to enjoy leisure and fishing.

Folk literature and art

There are mainly two kinds of folk literature and art in the countryside: one is folk songs; the other is wind music. Folk songs have been widely spread since ancient times. The famous folk songs include Yimeng Mountain ditty. The main wind instruments are trumpet, suona, flute, Gong, drum and hairpin. There are many kinds of dances with a long history. The most active dances are Yangko, stilt walking and lion dance during the Spring Festival.
