Xinghua Township

Xinghua township is located in the northeast of Meihekou City, 55 kilometers away from the urban area. It borders Panshi City in the northeast, kangdaying town in the northwest, Zuoying town in the southwest and niuxinding town in the southeast. It covers an area of 114 square kilometers, 13 kilometers long from north to South and 8.77 kilometers wide from east to west. It has 12 administrative villages, 33 natural villages, 84 villager groups, 3482 households and a total population of 12998, including 12708 agricultural population, 290 non-agricultural population and 6247 labor force. Xinghua township is a semi mountainous area, with a total cultivated area of 44000 mu, including 10000 mu of paddy field, 34000 mu of dry land, and 67000 mu of forest land. It is rich in water resources, including 1 small-scale reservoir, 7 small-scale reservoirs, and 330 ponds. There are abundant mineral water resources at the foot of Shuangfeng Mountain.

Economic situation

Xinghua Township takes the project construction as the overall economic work, takes the investment attraction as the main direction, takes the increase of farmers' income as the fundamental starting point, takes the construction of new socialist countryside as the carrier, and takes the ecological construction as the key point, so as to comprehensively develop Xinghua economy and build a socialist harmonious society. By the end of 2006, the total social output value of the township reached 170 million yuan, the fiscal revenue reached 1.472 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 3578 yuan, an increase of 25.7%, 26.8% and 32.6% respectively over 2001.
