Located in the north of Meigu county. In the West and North, it borders on Lewu township of Ebian Yi Autonomous County; in the East, it borders on RUOHA and shuwo township; in the south, it borders on yiguojue township. The rural area is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and the wahouneng mountain in the north is 3909 meters above sea level. Wahou river originates from zhulumaji mountain in the southwest of the rural area, flows to the northeast and passes through the middle of the rural area. The Northeast Valley is 1700 meters above sea level. Xiangzhisuo Longwo village. Longwo, juemu, Nenghe, yiwugu, jianerzhuo and weiheluo are under the jurisdiction of the township, with 23 groups, 445 households and 2121 people, including 2090 Yi people and 31 Han people. The population density is 10.67 per square kilometer.

In October 1956, Longwo and mashiquexiang were built. In May 1957, the Township People's committees were established respectively. In October 1958, mashique township was merged into Longwo township. In April 1968, the Township Reform Committee was established. In March 1974, it was converted into a commune. On July 12, 1981, the commune reform committee was changed into the management committee. In July 1984, the township system was restored and the township government was established.

On January 12, 2021, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Longwo Township and establish wahou township. The former administrative region of Longwo township is the administrative region of wahou Township, and the people's Government of wahou township is stationed at No. 5, group 2, Nenghe village.

In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the township was 1106900 yuan (374800 yuan for agriculture, 172200 yuan for forestry, 216700 yuan for animal husbandry, 343200 yuan for sideline and fishery); the area of cultivated land was 3347 mu, and the total grain output was 879000 kg. The main products are potato, corn, buckwheat seed, soybean, rapeseed, prickly ash and lacquer. There are 689 yellow cattle, 172 yaks, 4 horses, 2345 pigs, 1693 goats and 1670 sheep. The township has a bank credit union, a rural primary school with 37 students, a health center and a medical staff.
