Xianshi town

Xianshi Town, formerly known as Xianshi Township, is located in the southwest of Yongding County. It is connected with Jinsha and Chengjiao Township in the East, Changzhi township of Dapu County in Guangdong Province in the south, Fengshi town and Hongshan Township in the west, and Rentian town of Shanghang County in the north. The town government is located in Xianshi village, 14 kilometers away from the county. It has jurisdiction over 16 villager committees, 164 villager groups and 66 natural villages, including 15 revolutionary villages.

In 2017, the administrative area was 15142 hectares, with a permanent population of 11233.

Remove villages and establish towns

In October 2014, Fujian Provincial Government approved Yongding County to abolish Chengjiao Township and Xianshi Township and establish Chengjiao town and Xianshi town. For the suburban towns and Xianshi towns established, the administrative areas of the former suburban towns and Xianshi towns are the suburban towns and Xianshi towns, and the government's residence remains unchanged.

Resource economy

Located at about 116035 ′ E and 24030 ′ n, it belongs to the marine monsoon climate with the transition from South Asia heat to middle subtropics. There is no severe cold in winter, no severe heat in summer, abundant rainfall and clear boundary between dry and wet seasons. The township is a typical agricultural township with planting and breeding as the leading industry. The early maturing "June Red" with registered trademark is well-known and popular. Its products are exported to Hong Kong, Japan and other places, known as the hometown of taro.

The terrain inclines from north to East, South and West, and the topography is complex. There is a reservoir Mianhuatan reservoir with a total storage capacity of 2.4 billion cubic meters. There are five major rivers (Yongding River, langang River, Xiyang River, Dafu River and Jinzhai River) in the area, with a total length of 50 kilometers and a rainfall collection area of 87.7 square kilometers. All rivers in the area flow into Mianhuatan reservoir. There are eight small hydropower stations and one 110kV substation.
