Luoyigan

Luooyigan township is located in the southwest of Meigu county. The township office is located in luooyigan village, 1400 meters above sea level, 40 kilometers away from the county. Meigu River meets Zhuhe River, close to Hemu highway.

Regional environment

Meigu Zhuoyan highway and Hemu highway are connected here. The township borders Erqi Township in the East, jiukou Township in the north, Meigu River in the west, wunenggu (layimu) Township in Zhaojue County, and Moni Township in the south. The terrain is high in the northeast and low in the southwest, with an altitude of 1400-2400m. It is a low mountain and valley area with a mild climate.

Jurisdiction

The rural area is 24.27 square kilometers. It governs 5 villages, 28 groups, 598 households and 2446 people, including 2416 Yi and 30 Han. There are also rehabilitation villages in the township, 112 households, 239 people (Yi nationality). The population density is 108.84 per square kilometer.

Building a government

The township was originally under the jurisdiction of jiukou commune. In May 1972, a part of jiukou commune built Daqiao commune. Because the commune is located at the head of Meigu bridge, it is named. In July 1981, the commune reform committee was changed to the management committee. At the end of the year, it was renamed loewegan commune. In July 1984, the commune was removed and the township government was established.

Scale of development

In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the township was 875200 yuan (369000 yuan for agriculture, 4200 yuan for forestry, 353000 yuan for animal husbandry, 149000 yuan for sideline and fishery); the area of permanent cultivated land was 2569 mu, and the total grain output was 955000 kg. The main products are corn, potato, buckwheat, walnut and tung oil. There are 959 yellow cattle, 2 Buffalo, 87 horses, 2236 pigs, 1718 goats and 681 sheep. There are 1 commercial purchasing and marketing group and 1 banking office in the township, 3 rural primary schools with 164 students, 1 health center and 1 medical staff.
