It is located in the southeast of Baiyu County, bordering on mafong Township in the East, Batang Township in the south, Shanyan Township in the West and Gaiyu Township in the north, covering an area of 651 square kilometers. the township government's residence in Detuo is 3480 meters above sea level, with a population of 1015 people (2017). The area of returning farmland to forest (grass) is 2300 mu, with a wide range of wild animals and Cordyceps. The main livestock are cattle, sheep and horses. agriculture mainly produces highland barley and wheat. The territory is rich in Cordyceps, Fritillaria and other valuable medicinal materials.

Zhama temple, built in the Ming Dynasty, has a complete set of woodcut scriptures of Zhusheng Miyi collection, with 13 copies and 12026 pieces. It is the only copy kept in Kang district. On the side of the temple is the site of "SAMA Dynasty" in 1263, the fourth year of JINGDING in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is located at the side of Zama temple in Shama township. The site is a rectangle with a perimeter of 220 meters. According to historical records, in the fourth year of JINGDING in the Southern Song Dynasty, Lang Renqing, the 29th generation of the dege family, built the yisimaergan military and civilian mansion here, which is known as the "SAMA Dynasty". Shama, as the birthplace of dege chieftain, is said to be the center of the war between King Ling Gesar and the kingdom of Huo. Now the debris of buildings on both sides of the road can be seen everywhere.
